Al-Azhar Park

After a full afternoon of touring mosques and churches, we decided to reward the boys and bring them to Al-Azhar park. I purchased a couple of balls there and they had a blast playing catch with Baba and Wael. Booker was thrilled when he discovered that Egypt has hills for rolling down just like America.

And Egyptians point and laugh at my child as he rolls just like Americans do. Seriously, he looks retarded when he does this.

Booker had so much fun that when he woke up this morning, he asked to go back. He even remembered the name of the park and pronounced it correctly. I couldn't say no, so back to the park we went. This time, however, I was told that balls are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. No balls for you. Even though I bought them there at the park the previous day. So the balls were confiscated. But then Ike started wailing and sobbing so his ball was returned to him. So balls are STRICTLY FORBIDDEN unless you are small and white and cry easily.

This time we found the children's area where the boys were immediately flocked by a swarm of curious kids. The little boy below was the most persistent of them all and would not be deterred by Booker's sour disposition. I rewarded his efforts with a ticket to ride the train. He chose to sit next to Booker and Ike even though the train was empty and it was like 150 million degrees outside. His name was Saleh.
